Bonjour Giveaway: Win ONE of THREE stunning items (I selected) from Inverted edge

Whenever another platform – a boutique or an online store – promoting independent Asian designers pops us, I’m always excited and intrigued to know more about it.

Within the last year, I’ve witnessed the springing of at least a handful of these places around Singapore alone and only last month, a new welcome edition has surfaced on the scene. This is Inverted Edge, a Singapore-based online fashion e-tailer selling some carefully curated items from a pool of Asia Pacific independent designers.

There are so many things on the site which are drool-worthy, from the now familiar local favourites like Carrie K. and Lion Earl (check out the stunning limited edition structured peplum vest!) to Indonesia’s Nina Nikicio and Major Minor, New Zealand's Stolen Girlfriends Club, Australia's Injury and much much more…

This limited edition LION EARL peplum vest is exclusive to Inverted Edge! Love it!

Inverted Edge is also exclusively carrying some of London-based Singaporean designer Eugene Lin’s selected SS13 pieces! Those printed Giselle leggings and Gintage maxi dress are probably the highlight on the site. Yes I’m talking about the same dress Andrej Pejic strutted down the runway at Singapore’s Digital Fashion Week (DFW)!

Been swooning over Eugene Lin's SS13 collection as seen on Andrej
Pejic during DFW? Now you can get them exclusively at Inverted Edge!

But apart from all these labels that I know and love, the site has a range of new names from which I’ve picked out my favourite six items.

What’s better? Well, I’ll be giving away 3 of these items to lucky Bonjour Singapore readers on facebook over 3 weeks! ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKE HERE:

GIVEAWAY ITEM: Edge of Ember Amara blue bangle (USD195)

This socially-conscious label, a brainchild of Singapore designer Lynette Ong works with fair trade organizations around the region to produce beautifully-crafted accessories incorporating modern luxurious designs and impeccable style.

I especially love this 18k gold-plated bangle for the unusual curvy structure and the diamond shaped blue lapis lazuli stone in the middle. Perfect with a maxi dress for a tribal look or with a chic little number to add some edge.

Daydream Nation’s The Traveller’s Printed Top (USD325)

When you dress stars like Juliette Binoche and Kei$ha, collaborate with cool brands like Urban Outfitters and get your pieces selected by CHANEL to inspire Karl Lagerfeld… you know you’ve got something great going on!

The Hong Kong-based label, Daydream Nation, has done all the above in addition to receiving multiple awards and recognition since their launch in 2006.

I picked this playful top for the clever combination of the prints and playful sequined neckline which adds a whimsical feel the look.  I would definitely go with the full-on print look with these shorts but even a pair of tailored black shorts will look great with this one!

Stolen Girlfriends Club: Venom crop top (USD225)

I’ve never been fan of flashing midriffs but when done right, it is kinda effortless and sexy at the same time plus it’s a big trend this summer!

New Zealand independent label Stolen Girlfriends Club manage to add a rebellious rock n’ roll vibe to everyday’s wardrobe and this silk crop top with the venom print is just too cool! I would wear it with a high-waisted pencil skirt and pair of killer heels for an edgy chic look.

GIVEAWAY ITEM: Hunting Fields Bicolour shirt dress (USD100)

Remember the ancient rule that stated you should never wear black and navy blue together? Well, it’s time to break it!

And this shirt dress from popular Indonesian label Hunting Fields is the perfect excuse to do that. I love the elegant cutting especially the details on the neck and buttons, and how versatile this frock is in general. You can wear it to work with a pair of bright heels, or edge it up with a pair of brogues and chunky accessories.

GIVEAWAY ITEM: Aura Frame clutch bag by Rachana Reddy (USD190)

Coming from a rich Indian heritage, designer Rachana Reddy has successfully managed to combine the traditional handicrafts with her avant-garde design aesthetics. I love this teak wood structured clutch which would never go out of style. The little intricate details like silk embellishment and metal trim add an interesting organic touch to the otherwise classic shape. I would carry this with a bright silk dress on a night out.

Mary Ching animal print flats (USD230)

Chinese/British designer Mary Ching has added THAT elegant factor to mundane ballerina flats which may have finally convinced me to reconsider my obvious choice of footwear, i.e. heels for day and night!

I love the luxurious pony skin feel and coloured trim and beautiful finishing which makes them a bit more playful and stand out from the rest. The internal heel lift and gorgeous leopard print insoles add to their appeal. Just love these and would wear them with absolutely everything to give my feet some well-needed break from high heels!
